Austria beat Denmark quite easily within their pool. However, course of the ranking 9-16 Quarter final game was almost balanced on both sides. Two goal lead was created by Denmark in the beginning of the match, but their opponent equalized soon. Whole first half was developing in the same way and the period was tied 7:7.

After the break, Austrians were more active, Prochazka and Van Oetinger shot two important goals and were keeping weak lead. Although Denmark had fabulous last few minutes and modified to 9:10, but did not have enough time for more strikes. Austria will meet Netherlands in the battle for thirteenth place and Denmark will face South Korea on Friday.
