USA Go to the Finals. As Always

The team USA will not miss out on their eighth Women's Lacrosse World Cup finals. Americans easily defeated England 20:3 in the semifinals on Thursday and confirmed their position of the hottest candidate for the gold medals.

Mainly first halves troubled the overseas team within the Championship heretofore. They used to build a crucial advantage only in second periods and in the most awaited match against Australia were even down by five goals in the first half. Unlike in the semifinal round. The team around coach Sue Heether rocketed into the match and made a sufficient advantage in just a couple of minutes.

"We just knew that we are capable of coming out stronger and we really wanted to execute it in this game. We are so focused and try to start from first whistle. We really need a goal at a beginning of the game," said Kristen Kjellman, an author of a hat-trick, after the match. The beginning of the game really went well for Americans, who led 6:0 after only six minutes. They dominated on the field and the favorites of the duel were not even affected by the one and a half hour long storm break at all. „We just had come back after the storm and it was for us new beginning of the game. We got through over that,“ confirmed Kjellman.

Americans led 15:2 in the halftime and added another five goals in the second half, but took the ball out of their net only once. „I think we did a great job. We controlled the tempo of the game and we did great job in team defense and scored some goals,“ commended the American midfielder.

Sarah Albrecht helped her team by four goals and both Caroline Cryer and Katie Rowan added a hat-trick each, like Kjellman.

Although Englishwomen were fighting hard, the last chance for a good result vanished soon, because they shot their first goal at score 0:9. They got to numerous chances, but scored only twice in the second half. After a day off, USA will face Australia in a reprise of the last World Cup and England will fight Canada in the bronze medal match on Saturday.
