The Czech team have already defeated Germans in the pool rounds and believed in victory also in the ninth place match. Beginning of the game was a bit slow, but steady until fifteenth minute of play. Then the hosting squad got into gear and started an avalanche of five goals. Although Germany were able to get into chances, they scored only once in first period.

Second half was again dominated by Czechs who continued in good performances and by a series of four goals created an outstanding advantage. Germany managed to modify to final 5:15, Czech Republic ranked ninth after all.
