Ireland playing the Canadian captain from the last world cup, the reserve American goalie from the US 2005 squad, half a squad of east coast lacrosse players (NY&MD, not Dublin!)raises questions. An article online (apologies comment rules say no links, but it a newsday article) cites Irish player Pelizzi saying "i'm not irish, i'm 100% italian". Her friend Cohen replied "..dont even need to have an Irish background…"
Japan, Wales, and Scotland have been hard done by, but it is the women's organisation that had no eligibility criteria, and looks like Ireland abused good faith, and made their criteria "fancying a game".
I think the FIL will rectify this, and hopefully restructure the competition in four years time, because Ireland do not deserve a top group place, nor would Irish girls 'proper' want to compete at that level.
I hope their all star ringers actually set foot in ireland and try to develop irish lacrosse, not just wall display their shirt

I have to say, I'm an American at heart BUT USA has nothing on Canada in this tourny and that goes for them aussies too (sorry beth) anyway…you guys are playing awesome…keep it up..and i dont give a rip what anyone says, this team has what it takes and then some to SMOKE any other country in the game of lacrosse…you guys are a tight knit group of (in my humble but accurate opinion) the best players in the game.
